A self-limiting belief is a mistaken assumption you make about yourself or the world around you that keeps you stagnant and stuck. Statements like “I’m not good enough, I won’t fit in, or I have failed” are examples of incorrect assumptions that can prevent you from moving forward, achieving success, and growing from your experiences.

With a “fixed mindset”, you are limited by your beliefs, that you can’t change or learn or grow, and you tend to give up easily. This mindset is associated with pessimism, fear and avoidance. With a “growth mindset”, you embrace challenges and don’t see failure as the end - more so the springboard needed to develop yourself and your abilities.
